Energy experts take the high road

All roads will lead north as an exodus of some of the top names from the East of England’s energy industry head for a major conference and exhibition in Aberdeen.

More than 20 companies and organisations are teaming up to represent the region at the All-Energy conference and exhibition, the UK’s largest renewable energy event.

They will be taking with them skills from across the energy spectrum and delegates from major industry through to front-line education.

“It’s a great chance to highlight our region’s strengths, skills and specialist expertise to a national and international audience,” said Johnathan Reynolds, head of strategic development for the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), which organized the exhibition stand at All-Energy along with Renewables East.

“It is important that East of England businesses and skills are recognised and used far beyond our region’s borders. We will be in Aberdeen in a united effort to promote and sell what we do and how well we do it.”

Steve Clarke, Renewables East development director, added: “We are delighted to be taking regional businesses to the All Energy event to demonstrate the strong renewables offering presented by the East of England.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to build on the launch of OrbisEnergy at last year’s event and to give an update on the progress and latest developments and construction news.”

The Aberdeen trade stand has also been designed in the region, by TMS Exhibitions of Great Yarmouth.

The event is on May 23-24 at Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre and features a total of more than 300 exhibiting companies from at home and overseas and around 150 expert speakers.

A record number of participants will be involved against a backdrop of major challenges for the energy industry through climate change, security of supply and the need for indigenous power.

Energy Minister Lord Truscott will give a keynote speech at the opening plenary session.

Exhibiting on the East of England stand will be Cambridge County Council, Petans, CHPV Ltd, Peter Brotherhood, Lowestoft College and Bedford College Centres of Vocational Excellence, Pilot Drilling Control, POWER,
